Independent purpose-driven comms consultancy Second Mountain has been named the inaugural winner of the brand new ‘Content Creator’ category at the Creative Bath Awards.
Second Mountain’s two podcast and YouTube shows — Good Journeys and Wrestling Life — were recognised by the judges, who described the shows as “inspiring and polished … cleverly showcasing Second Mountain’s values and content creation capability.”
Both shows are hosted by Second Mountain’s founder, Chartered PR Practitioner and journalist Ben Veal. Good Journeys shares the personal stories of inspiring guests from around the world, and draws out insight on the lessons that they have learnt along the way. Produced by Tall Oak Productions in creative partnership with Resilient Leaders Elements, the show is now in its third season and has attracted a global audience.
Good Journeys guests to date include Emmaus UK president and Hostage International founder Sir Terry Waite KCMG CBE; autistic author, writer and speaker Pete Wharmby; internationally best-selling children’s author Rachel Bright, globally-recognised singer/songwriter and TV personality Lilian Garcia; philanthropy advisor and author Derek Bardowell; and purpose-driven community builder Ryan Hartley.
Wrestling Life with Ben Veal launched in 2023, and swiftly charted in the top 25 of the UK’s wrestling podcasts. The show explores the real individuals behind larger-than-life professional wrestling personas.
Now approaching the end of its first season, high-profile guests to date have included multi-time wrestling champion and internationally-renowned motivational speaker Marc Mero, 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist and WWE World Champion Kurt Angle, and former world champion Lex Luger, who suffered a debilitating spinal injury and became quadriplegic in 2007, and openly shares his journey with discovering peace and a new identity since finding faith.
Ben Veal, founder of Second Mountain Comms, says:
“I’m absolutely over the moon to win this 2024 Creative Bath Award. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone to become a podcaster and content creator has been one of the best career decisions I have ever made. It’s opened up so many incredible doors and connections. This award is dedicated to every single guest who has trusted me with their story so far. There’s plenty more to come: the journey of both shows has really only just begun!”
Based at Holt’s Glove Factory Studios, Second Mountain is committed to helping good people do good, by supporting charities, not-for-profits and purpose-driven business leaders to help share their story through PR, marketing and creative content.
