Young Blooms hires Second Mountain Communications

A passionate and vocal advocate of British-grown flowers and eco-friendly floristry has appointed Second Mountain Comms for media relations and thought leadership support.

Grace Farrimond is the owner and principal florist behind Young Blooms, a Wiltshire-based business operating from the award-winning Hartley Farm that has been providing beautifully-crafted bouquets and floral arrangements to a UK-wide customer base since 2007. The business creates inspirational and bespoke designs for a range of occasions.

Grace is a strong believer in eco-friendly floristry practices - particularly the ‘No Floral Foam’ movement - is a flower grower in her own right and a frequent YouTuber, sharing her latest creations to a growing social media audience.

With the wedding and events industry hit particularly hard during 2020’s global pandemic, Grace Farrimond has diversified in a number of creative directions, both proactively - looking ahead to the future of the floristry industry - and in response to the significant impact that the pandemic has had on the creative sector.

The well-established Young Blooms business now provides a postal floral service, creative workshops, one-to-one tuition and an online floristry school - all with the aim of making floristry accessible, open and inclusive to all.

Grace Farrimond, owner and principal florist of Young Blooms, comments:

“Floristry is a very special industry, and I’m passionate about bringing others into a creative sector that has served me so well, and passing on the skills I’ve learnt as an entrepreneur. I am particularly keen to share my learnings and experiences as a small business owner, and encouraging others in their floristry skills.”

Ben Veal, founder and MD of Second Mountain Comms, adds:

“Grace Farrimond stands out as an inspiring example of a business owner who is creatively weathering the many challenges that the weddings and events sector, as well as small businesses generally, continue to battle in the face of the pandemic. Her story is one that needs to be told to inspire others.”

Second Mountain Communications, established in 2020, specialises in supporting ethical and purpose-driven firms: helping good firms and business leaders to do good.

The agency has been engaged to build media awareness for Grace Farrimond and Young Blooms, create thought leadership opportunities and share entrepreneurial advice with the right audiences.
